Kirstine L. "Jackie" Downing

Biography:  Kirstine L. “Jackie” Downing, 78, of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.  Jackie was born Feb. 25, 1937 to Niels Einar Simonsen and Elizabeth (Malarkey) Simonsen Stephenson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Elizabeth “Betty” Wurm.

 
Jackie is survived by children Julie Downing; Jackie (James) Robison; and Bob Downing all of Bucyrus; their father Robert L. Downing of Florida; grandchildren Jeremy, Ryan, Simon, Emilee, Zoe, and Jayda; great grandchildren Kelsey, Austin, and Dylan; great great grandchild Brennan; brother Timothy (Opal) Stephenson, Bucyrus; sisters Patricia “Pat” (Ernest) Teynor, Bucyrus and Inez “Nezzie” (Fransisco) Madrid, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jackie lived her life in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1956.  She formerly worked at Big M Cleaners and as a receptionist for Dr’s Teynor and Waite.  Jackie retired from Swan after 16 years and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Miller as Celebrant, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemeteries Holy Trinity Section.  The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm with the rosary being recited at 6:45 pm.  Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
