Juanita Geneva Volkmer

Juanita Geneva Volkmer, 87 of Brokensword passed away on Monday January 6, 2025 at Landings of Oregon in Oregon, Ohio following an extended illness. Juanita was born October 1, 1937 in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents Eldon and Bernice (Smith) Vaughn as well as husband Wade J. Volkmer who passed away on February 7, 2010.

Juanita is survived by children Faron (Lynn) Volkmer of Galion, Paula (Mike Ruskinoff) Webster of Oregon, OH, Angela (Donald) Gardner of York, SC, and Heather (Noel) Tea of Bucyrus; grandchildren Kent, Karli, Kourtney, Kelsey, Autumn, Braxton, Justin, Jared, Dylan, and Levi; 19 great grandchildren; brother William Vaughn of New Washington; sisters Joanna Johnson of Mansfield and Janet Stuckman of Upper Sandusky; as well as nieces and nephews.

Juanita lived the majority of her entire life in Brokensword, Ohio and spent those years loving, caring, and helping many people. She didn’t know a stranger and being a social butterfly there were not many people who didn’t know Juanita. Juanita enjoyed her animals, gardening, and was a great baker and chef, but most of all she loved her family.

Juanita owned and operated the Golden Rule Upholstery Shop in Brokensword along with working at Bucyrus Community Hospital in housekeeping. She was the Activities Director at Altercare of Bucyrus in the memory care unit and loved taking care of older people. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and going to sporting events.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
