Biography: Joseph S. Knipe, 62, of rural Bucyrus, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018. Joe was formerly of Dover, Delaware and moved to the Bucyrus area in 2006. He was born May 21, 1956 in Washington, D.C. to James Knipe (deceased) and Marina (Roach) Rogin, who survives in Dover. He was married to Mary (Grennen), who survives, was the father of Aaron Knipe and Jason Knipe of Delaware, and had 3 grandchildren, Athena, Xavier, and Sadie. His siblings include brother Dirk Knipe (deceased) and sisters Sherry (Bill) Pisacano of New Jersey and Dawn (Ernest Weber) Knipe of Florida. He had two nephews, Daniel Reddy and Alec Knipe, and a niece, Angelique Claessen-Knipe.
Joe was a machinist, working primarily on electric motors. He graduated from Caesar Rodney High School (Dover, DE) in 1975, attended college for 2 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed woodworking, acting and directing, designing theatre sets, golfing, fishing, hiking, astronomy, and model building, and was fond of animals and reptiles. He will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 1 at Torbert Funeral Home in Dover, DE. The Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, in Bucyrus, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements.
