John A. Banks

Biography:  John A. Banks, 79 of Bucyrus passed away at home on Friday December 15, 2017.  John was born March 13, 1938 in Bucyrus to the late Norman Jessie Banks and Florence E. (Davis) Banks.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers James, Luther, Robert, Ronald, and Tommy as well as sisters Mary Thomas and Linda Banks.
 

John was married June 12, 1965 to Linda (Dyer) Banks who survives along with 2 sons John Banks Jr. and wife Sarah of Humble, TX; and Kevin (Traci) Banks of Bucyrus; one grandchild Camden of Humble, TX; brothers Norman, Richard, and Charles all of Bucyrus and brother Donald of Columbus.

 

John lived his entire life in Bucyrus and retired from Swan Rubber after 35 years.  He served in the National Guard from 1961 until 1965 and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.  John enjoyed working on cars and restoration, fishing, and spending time with the family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Lyle Arnett officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 pm and from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
