Joann Richardson

Biography:  Joann Richardson of Bucyrus, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Altercare following extended illness. Joann (Anderson) Richardson was born on July 12, 1934 to Elsie (Thomas) and Swanson (Govenor) Anderson in Grundy Va.


After attending Grundy High School, she graduated in 1953 from Richlands High. Joann married the late Dennis E. Richardson on October 3, 1952 in Richlands, Va. Hired by Comtrol in 1968, Joann retired at 62 as an electrical technician. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
 
Hobbies were traveling, gardening, cooking, and music. Her heart belonged to family and friends. Joann’s kitchen always welcomed frequent visitors with garden fare, baked goods or a fresh pot of coffee.
 
Joann is survived by her three children: Debra (Debbie) Richardson (James Donaldson), Donald (Jeannie) Richardson, Dennis and special friend (Deb Richardson). Grandchildren are Scott (Robyn) Cuffman, Jaime (John) Ortiz, Josh (Tosh) Richardson, Jaime Ba, Jennifer (Kyle) Weddington and niece Sara (Derek) Ray. Joann has 13 great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Brandon Alan Richardson and Casey Nichole Cuffman and her siblings: Lucille Fields, Betty Owens, Frank Anderson, Tom Anderson, Jackie
Leuthold, Curt Anderson, and Tim Anderson.

A Celebration of Joann’s life will be held at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on September 16 at 2:00 pm. Family will welcome guests at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.
