Joan "Joni" A. Smith

Joan “Joni” A. Smith, 82 of Bucyrus passed away Thursday October 10, 2024 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Joan was born August 20, 1942 in Sandusky Ohio to the late Paul and Janet (Parker) Baumeister. She married Russell “Smitty” Smith March 22, 1963. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Austin Cross and brother LeRoy Baumeister.

Joan is survived by daughters Becki Smith of Bucyrus and Sue (James) Cross of Bucyrus; sister Paula (Larry) Wells; grandchild Dana Cross and great grandchildren Dylan and Hayleigh.

Joan graduated from Margaretta High School. She worked as a waitress at the Brown Derby for years before working at the Holiday Inn as a receptionist. Joan loved spending time with her family and helping her daughters. She liked horses and taking trips to Cedar Point.
