Joan (Hart) Murphy

Joan (Hart) Murphy, 91 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at home.  Joan was born June 18, 1932 in Bucyrus to the late Lester and Agnes (Young) Hart.  She was married March 30, 1948 to Archie E. Murphy who preceded her in death on March 28, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by brother and sister in law  Jack and Mary Hart; sister and brother in law Irene and Eddie Peterman;  brother in laws Harold Taylor and Denis Dornbirer; and sister in law Lee Hart.

Joan is survived by daughters Barbara Sharp and Nancy (Jim) Bloomfield both of Kentucky, Patty Gingery of Bucyrus, and Bethann (Bobby) Hickman of Nevada; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; brothers Richard Hart of Bryan, OH and Ralph (Kathy) Hart of Bucyrus; sisters Betty Taylor, Sandra Dornbirer, and Linda Holflich all of Bucyrus; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joan attended Mt. Zion and Holmes Liberty Schools and worked at several stores in the area as well as being a homemaker.  Joan was also a volunteer as a grey lady at Bucyrus Community Hospital. She was a member of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, camping, gardening, travel, and being with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Bucyrus Nazarene Church with Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Council on Aging and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
