Jimmie E Hargis

Jimmie E. Hargis, 72 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday August 24, 2023 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Jimmie was born December 12, 1950 to the late Garland Comer Hargis and Tommie Velma (Thompson) Hargis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother Garland Sanford Hargis and sisters Edna Walter and Joyce Judkins.

Jimmie was married February 19, 1972 to Julia (Benedict) Hargis who survives along with three children, Jeremy L. (Krista) Hargis of Florida, Chelsie (Shane) Quaintance of Bucyrus, and Brian J. Hargis of Bucyrus; grandchildren Brooke, Gracie, Gavin, and Camden; brothers Roy, Jerry “Pudge”, and Jennith “Ken” Hargis; sister Carolyn Decker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmie graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1969 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He worked various jobs in the Bucyrus area over several years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 6:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
