Jerry M. Comer

Jerry M. Comer, 81 of Bucyrus went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 31, 2023 at Legacy of Bucyrus.  Jerry was born January 23, 1942 in Wilksville, OH to the late Lennox and Chessie (Goods) Comer.  He was married to Karen Caldwell of Marion, OH on April 25, 1975 and she preceded him in death on November 11, 2017.  He was also preceded in death by brothers Ivan, Marvin, and Melvin; sisters Wanda Taylor and Lillian Meynard as well as grandson Scott.

Jerry is survived by children Jill Comer of Bucyrus, Gregory (Amy) Comer of Union City, OH, Tina (Tim) Ballard of McArthur, OH, and Philip (Mari) Comer of Patriot, OH; 4 grandchildren; sister Kathy Bourguios of New Orleans; nieces and nephews; and his chihuahua’s “Taco” and “Loco”.

Jerry worked at Komatsu Dresser in Galion for 27 years until it closed in 1999.  He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Guardians.  He was also a music fan and loved many types of music.  Jerry especially was a fan of the Everly Brothers.  He loved horses, his dogs Taco and Loco, and spending time with family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Avita Home Health Hospice or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
