Biography: Jean Williamson, 88 of Bucyrus passed away at 12:45 am, January 14, 2017 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Mrs. Williamson was born December 20, 1928 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to the late Edward O. and Sarah (Russell) Griffith. She was married August 3, 1946 to Ira Burton Williamson in Franklin, KY. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1996. She was also preceded in death by son David Williamson, grandson Jamie, son-in-law Gilbert D. Parker, sisters Elizabeth Gregory and Edlene Kepley.
Mrs. Williamson retired from Bucyrus Community Hospital in 1995 after 42 years of caring service on the Maternity floor. At the time of her retirement, she had the distinction of the longest term of service for the hospital. She was extremely proud of delivering and caring for 3 generations of Crawford County families.
Jean is survived by her two children, Jeannette Parker of Bucyrus and Paul Williamson of Shepherdsville, KY, a sister, Sue Griffith of Portland, TN, and daughter-in-law Sue Williamson of Nevada. Also survived by grandchildren Georgia Sanders, Randal Giles, Traci Zellner, Alycia Yates, Jeremy Williamson, Jean Metz, Jodi Williamson, Sarah Pablo, and Brian Williamson, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday January 18, at 11:00 am conducted by the Rev. Brad Smith, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made in her memory to The “In Debbie’s Footsteps” Alzheimer’s Awareness Group in care of the funeral home.
