Biography: Janis Emory, 79 of Bucyrus went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family early Saturday Jan. 3, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital. Janis was born Aug. 11, 1935 in Richland, VA to the late John and Eula (Chapman) Rimmer. She was married March 5, 1985 to Leroy Emory who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Brother Douglas Rimmer and Sister Valice Barnett.
Janis is survived by daughters Sophia (Bill); Kathy (Jim); Debra (fiancée Victor); step children Nora, Marci, and Tracy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Genny (Ron) Montgomery of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Janis lived most of her life in the Bucyrus and Galion areas. She attended both the Gospel Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Bucyrus. For several years Janis worked at Karen’s Diner. Janis was active in delivering Meals on Wheels and traveling to nursing homes in the area to conduct Bible Studies. She enjoyed reading the bible, watching religion and church on T.V., and dancing.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Lance and Pastor Scott Willman officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
