James Leuthold, 85 of Galion passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at Bucyrus Community Hospital following a brief illness. Jim was born August 18, 1937 in Crawford County to the late Paul and Lula (Bantzhaff) Leuthold.
James is survived by daughter Kelly (Jeff) Leuthold-Vogt of Shelby; 3 grandchildren; brothers William of Bucyrus, Paul of Bucyrus, Gerald (Trish) of Indio, CA, Dwight (Sandi), Wayne (Ruth), and Douglas (Dianne) all of Bucyrus, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by sisters Arleta Stevenson and Christine Warren and nephew Todd Leuthold.
Jim retired from the Timken Company after 44 years and drove truck. He was a member of Evangelical Pietist Church in Chatfield. Jim was a staff sergeant in the Ohio National Guard for 6 years. A Member of the Bucyrus Masonic Lodge #139, Jim was also a member of the Chapter Council Commandery, Marion, Eastern Star, Upper Sandusky, 32nd Scottish Rite and Shriners Valley of Toledo, and the Grotto of Mansfield.
Jim was an avid Country Music and Bluegrass Music fan. He attended the Grand Ole Opry 42 times as well as traveling to Virginia Beach and Jeckyl Island for Bluegrass performances.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bertsch officiating, burial will follow in Lust Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Masonic Services will be held on Monday at 7:45 pm.
