Biography: James Earl Mullins, age 96, passed away surrounded by family June 10, 2017. James was born to the late William D. and Lucille "Lucy" (Todd) Mullins January 25, 1921 in Wildie Kentucky. James married Bessie Mae (Dewiel) Mullins September 15, 1950. James is preceded in death by parents, loving wife Bessie Mae Mullins, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and great grandchild Levi Claytor.
James is survived by children, Nancy (Harry) Mullins of Chatfield, James D. Mullins of Bucyrus, Walter (Bonnie) Mullins of Bucyrus, Betty (Isaac) Shepherd of Chatfield, Tina (Jeremy) Claytor of Caledonia, Stave Amy (Mullins) of Chatfield, as well as several grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
James worked at Ekleberry Poultry over 20 years and retired in 1983. He also served in the US Army as Combat Engineer in WWII. Some of James favorite things to do was farming and raising the pigs. He took much pride in his gardening and canning. James was also an avid fisherman.
Visiting hours are at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home June 13 from 11-2 PM. Funeral services will follow the visiting hours at 2 PM. Interment is at Whetstone Cemetery. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com
