Biography: Jack M. Binnix, 84, of Bucyrus, OH passed away on February 2, 2019 while surrounded by family. He was born April 1st, 1934 in Fairview West Virginia to the late Leroy and Dorothy (Hunter) Binnix. He was a 1952 graduate of Fairview High school where he was part of the 1951 state championship basketball team. He later received his teaching degree at Fairmont State University in West Virginia where he played basketball.
In 1959 he began coaching and teaching at Bucyrus High School. He served as the Athletic Director for 30 years until he retired. He was inducted into the BHS Athletic Hall of Fame in January 2018.
He is remembered for his love of his family and friends, his wonderful sense of humor, his love of sports, coaching, and tending to his lawn. He was an avid fan of the West Virginia Univ. Mountaineers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jack is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of sixty-three years, Doris (Boore); children Jack (Kim) Binnix, Bucyrus, OH, Beth (Louie) Zamora, Fremont, OH; brother Jim Binnix, Penn Hills, PA; nephews, Joe (Sue) Binnix and Jim (Gina) Binnix; grandchildren Steve Binnix, Dayton, OH, Joe (Abbi) Binnix, Galion, OH, Jeff Binnix, Columbus, OH, Adam Zamora, Columbus, OH, Emily (Taylor) Bogner, Lexington, OH; his adored great-grandchildren Madden, Knox, Mila, Madisyn, Kennedy, and Henry.
To honor his wishes, there will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held for immediate family at Oakwood Cemetery.
