Jack Paul Agler Jr., 64 of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday April 22, 2023 at Marion General Hospital after a hard fought battle with cancer. Jack was born October 13, 1958 in Columbus to the late Jack P. Agler Sr. and Patricia (Lambert) Agler who survives in Delaware, OH. He was married to the love of his life Beth (Kraft) Agler on July 18th 1987 and she survives along with three daughters, Noel (Emerson Hammerslag) Agler, Leah (Seth Hensley) Agler, and Paige (Grant) Fox; brothers Ronnie (Lori) Agler of Bucyrus and Richard Agler of Mt. Vernon; sister Terrie Dickerson of Columbus; aunt Liz Fravel; uncle Jim (Darlene) Agler; many loved nieces and nephews; his much loved Dachshund “Ollie”; and friends he considered family, Randy and Gerri Scarbro and Shane Severs. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister Debra Burgess and brother Doug Agler.
Jack attended Big Walnut High School in the class of 1977. He lived most of his life in Bucyrus and retired from General Electric in 2019 after working over 30 years as a master machinist. Jack was a loyal member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669, the Bucyrus Elks Lodge, and AMVETS post #27. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, cooking, gardening, and playing guitar. He also loved spending time with his wife and three daughters.
Those who knew Jack knew he was the life of the party. He was a seasoned bourbon connoisseur and loved gathering with his friends and family in “the man cave.” (If you know you know). He loved old school Volkswagen beetles and was a Jack of all trades. He was a devoted father and husband and would do anything for his family.
One of Jack’s favorite pastimes was spending time with his brother and best friend, Ron. Jack and Ron were inseparable, and they made it a priority to raise their families together. He will be greatly missed.
