Biography: Isabelle F. Billings, 91, of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday May 4, 2014 at Maplecrest Home in Bucyrus and heaven gained a beautiful Angel. Isabelle was born Oct. 9, 1922 in rural Crawford Co. to the late William and Caroline (Seiler) Leonberger. She was married Dec. 9, 1943 to Wilford C. Billings who preceded her in death on July 2, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother Fred Leonberger and sisters, Bertha Scheffler, Hazel Leuthold, Lucille Assenheimer, Bernice Carmean, Velma Dickey, and Lola Belle Shellhouse.
Isabelle is survived by son Gary (Brenda) Billings of Bucyrus; daughter Joyce (William) Bloomfield of Bucyrus; grandchildren Todd (Betty Jo) Billings, Lee, Daniel, and Lance (Ashley) Billings, Tamara Woodard, Tracey (James) McClain, and Ryan (Beth) Bloomfield; 8 great grandchildren; sister Norma Fairchild of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Isabelle was a homemaker and had worked at Mt. Zion School and also Vasils. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church and for several years the Mt. Zion area Mothers Club. Isabelle enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her garden and flowers.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Chelsea Spencer officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be given to Maplecrest or Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
