Helen N. Dunford

Biography:  Helen N. Dunford, 78, of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Med Central Hospital, Mansfield following a long courageous battle with cancer.  Helen was born May 2, 1936 in Tazewell Co., Virginia to the late Charles and Alice (Edwards)  Poe.  She was married August 19, 1954 to Barney Dunford Jr. who survives.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Pauline Goodman and Della Clark as well as son in law Gary Spence.
 
Helen is also survived by children Scott (Rhonda), of Bucyrus; Karen Spence of Bucyrus; Danny (Gigi), of Fairview Park, OH; Barney “BJ” of Bucyrus and Cheryl Dunford of Bucyrus; 11 grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Grad”,  Brent, Delanea, Lindsay, Michael, Danny Jr., Brandon, Kaden, Cheyenne, Kyle, Zach, and Kaleb; great grandchildren Henry, Rowan, Lilie, Nicolas, and Carter; sisters Edith (Eugene) Hayth, N. Mexico; Dorothy Morris of Denton, NC; Frances (Terry) Hoffner of Mt. Ulla, NC; and Gladys Harrison of Lexington, NC.  Helen was a homemaker who loved to fish and go bargain hunting at thrift shops and garage sales.  Most of all she loved being with her family and sisters who were very special to her.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Bernie France officiating, burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
