Harold E. Brooks

Harold E. Brooks, 91 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at home.  Harold was born May 15, 1931 in Bucyrus Twp., Crawford County to the late Wilbur and Elsie (Edgington) Brooks.  He was married September 2, 1950 to Marjorie (Houk) Brooks who preceded him in death on November 5, 2007.  He was also preceded in death by brother Raymond, sister-in-law Loretta Brooks, and brother-in-law George Byrd.

Harold is survived by daughters Janet L. Reed of Shelby OH, Mary (Donald) Pollock of Bucyrus and Pamela Brooks of Bucyrus; grandchildren Angela (Craig) Vent, Elisabeth Smith, Kari (Chris) Karl, Amy (Jesse) McHone, Lori (Mike) Dishon, Stephanie Parker, and Tom (Nellie) Parker; 16 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sisters Ruth Byrd of Mt. Orab, OH and Donna (Charles) Finley of Bucyrus; as well as nieces and nephews.

Harold retired from the Timken Company in 1993 after 20 1/2 years.  He formerly worked at Ohio Crane and Huber Warco.  He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1950 and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.  Harold was also a member of the U.C.T. and former Volunteer Fireman in Bucyrus Twp.  He enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie and traveling.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. David Smithey and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the Church or the donor's choice through the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
