Biography: Gracie Dalton…“Our Beautiful Angel”… Loving mother and grandmother…and friend to so many…got her wings in heaven on Saturday March 8, 2014. At first, the angels stood behind her bed and guided every breath. Later, when her breath began to fade, the angels hovered above her, gently lifting her spirit into the heavenly hands of God.
Gracie was born July 3, 1931 to the late Lee Parsons and Maudie Parsons Collins in Floyd Co., KY. She was the mother of 9 children…8 living and 1 deceased. Surviving Children are Ann (Sam) Osborne Sweeney, Bucyrus; Harold (Susan) Osborne of S. Williamson, KY; Ronald Osborne, Huntington, WV; Melvin Osborne of Columbus, OH; Bea Riels, Ken (Pam) Osborne, and Dorene Osborne-Cole all of Bucyrus; and Denise (Troy) Evans of Galion; 16 grandchildren, Wayne (Gayle) Sweeney, Melissa (Ed) Sweeney, Scott (Amy) Osborne, Jamie (Michael) Broderick, Meghan (Scott)Martin, Sara (Ben) Johnson, Dawn (Rob) Fields, Jessica (Matt) Poore, David Riels, Derek (Tiffany) Riels, Michael Osborne, Kylie Osborne, Chase Osborne, Josh (Amy) Cramer, Stephanie (Eric) Moore, Hannah Evans; 19 great grandchildren; brothers Graham (Tennessee) Parsons and Barlow (Shirley) Parsons; and sister Mary Ann Hunter all of Floyd Co., KY. She was preceded in death by one son Stevie “Jr” Osborne; husband, Steve Osborne and Hubert Dalton; brothers, Johnnie Ray Collins , Sid Parsons and Dossie Parsons, as well as sister Sarah Kidd.
Gracie moved to Bucyrus in 1976 from Matewan W. Virginia. She was a homemaker and Member of the Church of God. Gracie was very active in the Church and loved her family. One of the enjoyments of her life was tending her flower bed.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Church of God with grandson Rev. Scott Osborne, Rev. Ernest Surgener and Rev. Bill Caldwell officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Monday (tonight) from 5-8 pm.
