Biography: Grace Dixon, 95, of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Altercare of Bucyrus. She was born May 26, 1918 in Seco Kentucky to the late Charles V. and Hester (Cornett) DeCoursey. On November 25, 1944 she married Arthur Dixon who preceded her in death on December 6, 1969.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Larry) Adams of Bucyrus and Kathryn (Robert) Sautter of Tiro. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Paula (Ernie) DeLong of Kentucky, JoAnne (Mark) Griffin of Bucyrus, Teresa Adams of Bucyrus, Larry Adams of Upper Sandusky, Carolyn (Troy) Rayborn of Bucyrus, Steve (Angela) Sautter of Tiro, and Cindy (Matt) Bower of Glenmont; her 12 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, her brother, Edd DeCoursey, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Delong, brothers, Amerida, Eugene, Charles Jr; and her infant sister, Katherine Estele.
She came to Bucyrus in 1959 and was a homemaker. During WWII she was a Rosie Riveter and worked in Ypsilanti Michigan in the Ford Bomber Plant. She was a 55 year member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bucyrus. She was very active in Love Circle, 59 year member of Eastern Star, and very active in the community.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-5 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Dalrymple officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the 1st Baptist Church through the funeral home.
