Gloria Whitaker-Shafer-Smith

Biography:  Gloria Whitaker-Shafer-Smith, 67 of Sherer Rd., Galion passed away on Friday Oct. 14, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.  Gloria was born July 4, 1949 in Bucyrus to the late Frank and Neoma (Patton) Whitaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Chris Whitaker and sister Jean Whitaker.


Gloria is survived by grandchildren Deseree, Legacy, Drake, Blake, Colton, and Jasmine; 1 great grandchild; sisters Jackie (Max) Flahive of Bradenton, FL and Angie Whitaker of Mansfield; close friends Jane and Dan Russ and Janet Rita; as well as nieces and nephews.


Gloria graduated from Wynford H.S. in 1967 and retired from Crawford Co. Job and Family Services after 25 years of service.  She enjoyed shopping, garage sales, auctions, and her dogs “Levi” and “Taz”.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Oct. 22, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with  Rev. Paul Dalrymple officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.  Memorials may be given to the donors choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
