Biography: Glen Allen Burwell, 92 of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday August 11, 2018. Glen was born August 19, 1925 in Tiro Ohio on the family farm and spent the remainder of his life in the area. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Minnie (Ulmer) Burwell; his wife of 70 years Norma (Ulmer) Burwell; daughter in law Connie (Yaussy) Burwell; sister Helen Vanek; and brothers Paul and Richard Burwell.
Glen is survived by children Kathy (Bill) Halter of Bellville, OH and Doug (Lena) Burwell of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren Haley (Christopher) Wolf both of Colorado Springs.
Glen graduated from North Robinson High School in 1943. Following graduation he worked as an apprentice machinist at Electric Controller in Cleveland and then for W. A. Riddell in Bucyrus. He was in management at Huber Warco, Marion during which time he spent 15 months at athe Sao Paulo Brazil location. He also worked at Peabody in Galion, retiring in 1989 from the Winesburg,OH plant. Glen was also very active in the former St. John's Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs.
Graveside Services will be held at the Luke Cemetery, Tiro with S.A.M. Gene Luidhardt officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lowe Volk Park or the donor's choice through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
