Gilmie M. Jansen “Jenny”

Biography:  Gilmie M. Jansen “Jenny”, age 91, passed away peacefully in Show Low, Arizona. She was born to the late Chancy and Nellie May (Hughes) Hayes November 20, 1925 in Robertsburg, West Virginia. Jenny is preceded in death by parents, first husband Richard Carr and second husband Mathew Jansen, 3 brothers, 6 sisters, and 1 great-grandchild.


Jenny is survived by daughter, Sue (James) Holt; stepchildren, Gloria (Ray) Charlton and David Jansen; grandchildren, Tina (Chris) Munton and James Scott Holt (Cassie); 1 sister and 1 brother; as well as 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


Jenny worked at Krogers for a number of years as cashier and then was promoted into training manager’s while with them. She was a member of St. Georges Catholic Church in Apache Junction, Arizona. She enjoyed sewing and quilting in her spare time. She had a green thumb and thoroughly enjoyed planting her flowers and gardening. She would also try and help with the local bake sales for church when she had the chance to.


Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery Wednesday July 19, 2017. Arrangements are in the care of Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer's or Heart Association. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com
