George Isaac Gardner

Biography: George Isaac Gardner, age 67, passed away November, 5 at Bucyrus Hospital. George was born to the late Raymond and Elva “Foos” Gardner November 16, 1950 in Gallipolis Ohio. George married Roberta “Clark” Gardner February 23, 1968. He is preceded in death by parents, brother, Luther Gardner and sister, Virginia Brothers.


George is survived by wife of 50 years, Roberta Gardner; daughter,  Shiela (Jimmy) Surgener; grandchildren, Dennis Surgener, Latasha (Ernest) Smith, Christopher Surgener, and Nathan Rickett; sisters, Frances Tackett, Nancy Altvater, Betty Vanbuskirk, and Ellen Baldwin-Slaven; as well as 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


George tended to be a wheeler and dealer, he enjoyed going to auctions, playing poker, and taking care of his dogs. He served with the U.S. Navy for a short stint. George also ran a second hand store for a few years.
