Biography: Freelin Hensley, 67, of Bucyrus passed away on Monday at home, his death was unexpected. Freelin was born Sept. 20, 1946 in Vanceburg Kentucky to the late Stanley and Lillie (Brown) Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and Clyde Sr; and his nephew, Clyde “Junior” Hensley.
Freelin is survived by his children Lisa (John) Malone, North Robinson; Teresa (Tony) Frazier, Bucyrus; Donna (Rick) Hardymon, Bucyrus; Matt (Mindy) Hensley, Arizona; Freelin “Jim” (Kim) Hensley of Bucyrus and 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brothers John, Bucyrus and Ken, Benton; sisters Ida Berry, Marion: Roxie Messer, Bucyrus: Kathy Reeder, Bucyrus; and Brenda Lauthers of Bucyrus; his extended family Stephanie Holycross and her daughters Heidi Holycross, Emily Holycross and Jennifer Leiner; as well as many nieces and nephews. Freelin was formerly married to Maggie Hensley of Bucyrus and to Arlene McGinnis of Bucyrus.
Freelin was retired as a mechanic and a welder. He also formerly owned and operated Freelin’s Muffler Shop. Freelin loved cars, motorcycles, playing cards, shooting pool, and people.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1-3 and 5-7 pm. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the “Together we hurt, Together we heal” through the funeral home.
