Biography: Fred Lowell Foster, 81 of Bucyrus passed away Friday April 22, 2016 at home, his death was unexpected. Fred was born April 25, 1934 to Escar R. And Lecty Theo Foster in Faubush, KY. He married Lura Mae McQueary on Aug. 7, 1954 and she survives. That union ended in divorce, but they remained close. From that marriage they have five children; Linda M. (Jerry) Miller of Bucyrus; Freddie R.
(Teresa) Foster of Shiloh; James L. (fiance’ Rhonda Hunt) of Bucyrus; Lori Ann (William) West of Ashland, KY; and Jeremy A. Foster of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren;
numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Omer and brothers Dewey (Dorothy) Foster, and Hewey (Christine) Foster; two nephews, and three nieces.
Fred graduated from Nancy High School in Nancy KY. Throughout his life, Fred was an accomplished musician with his favorite instrument being the mandolin. He modeled his style of playing the mandolin after legendary bluegrass musician Bill Monroe. He was a member of several gospel music and bluegrass bands, and had performed on stage and at multiple radio stations. Fred was a longtime employee of Swan Rubber Co. and in later years worked at Fairview Manor and Altercare of Bucyrus.
