Biography: Frances Kay (Smith) Monk Bogart, 64, of rural Bucyrus passed away on Monday at 9:30 pm in The Ohio State University Hospital, her death was unexpected. Kay was born Feb. 20, 1950 in Salem W. Virginia to the late Eldred Smith and Kathleen (Lattea) Smith Pulver Burns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Terry Smith and sister Cathy Puckett.
Kay is survived by son Michael (Amy) Monk, Bucyrus; grandchildren, Dexter (Jessica) Monk of Columbus and Cheyenne Monk of Bucyrus; brother Thomas (Sue) Smith, Bucyrus; June Dulin, Bucyrus; Judy (Bill) Dormaier, Mansfield; and Pam Haycook of Bucyrus; former husbands Ed Monk and Jim Bogart of Bucyrus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay lived in Alliance, Leesville, and for most of her life in Bucyrus. She was a graduate of Bucyrus High School in 1969 and had also attended Col. Crawford. Kay retired from the Timken Company in 2009 after 30 years. Kay enjoyed activities with her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Wingert officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
