Floyd Eugene "Bud" Smith

Biography:  Floyd Eugene “Bud” Smith, 75 of rural Crestline passed away at 9:25 am Wednesday August 28, 2013 at home.  Mr. Smith was born July 17, 1938 in Hinkley, OH to the late Duane E. and Edith (Webber) Smith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepson Stephen W. Betts; step great grandson Peter Benedict Shock; and brother Howard Smith.
 
Bud is survived by his wife of 49 years Mary (Himes) Betts Smith; Stepson James (Donna) Betts of Chatfield; stepdaughter Phyllis Murphy of Crestline; stepson Douglas Betts of Hutsonville, MI; 8 step grandchildren; and 14 step great grandchildren.Bud had worked at Checkmate Boats as a truck driver, was a home remodeler, worked as an audio engineer for bands, and also did farming. 
Bud was an avid reader who enjoyed the Cleveland Browns and going to auctions.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Scott officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm Tuesday until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the Tiro United Methodist Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
