Biography: Ethel Leona Crouse, 80, of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday February 19, 2014 following a brief illness. She was born March 3, 1933 in Shelby to the late Harry and Lillian (Pickens) Gutshall. On October 1, 1954 she married Hugh A. Crouse who preceded her in death on January 6, 1999. She was his caregiver for 31 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Morris of Bucyrus; her sons, Eric (Nancy) Crouse and Martin (Martha Ann) Crouse all of Bucyrus; her grandchildren, Sara (Chris) Moone of Bucyrus, Nathan Morris of Orlando Florida, Merry Cohen, Ashley (Mark) Hocker of Galion, Josh (Victoria) Schott of Ft. Knox Kentucky, and Ian (Paige) Crouse of Bucyrus; Her great grandchildren, Cameron and Corey Moone, Gavin and soon to be Anderson Crouse, Madisson and Brydon Schott, Rayna Clayton, and Harmionie Hocker; her sisters, Madeline Sutter of Shelby, JoAnne Spangler of Shelby, and Lois Dennis of Virginia. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, Raymond, and Walter; her sisters, Arlene Fox, Agnes Winck, Ruth Gutshall, and Lola Mae Gutshall.
Ethel spent most of her life in the Bucyrus and Tiro area. She retired from the Timken Company after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church in Tiro. She enjoyed walking her dog Sam, eating at Bob Evans, and most of all, loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and adored her family, who also adored her.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 3 pm in the Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church in Tiro.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society through the funeral home.
