Biography: Esther Marie Ross, 87 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday October 13, 2016 at The Inn at Orchard Park. Esther was born June 14, 1929 in Crawford County to the late Edwin and Edith (Frey) Grau. She was married Sept. 5, 1954 to William R. Ross who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son Mark A. Ross and Gracie the granddog.
Esther is also survived by daughter Nancy Ross of Delaware and son Paul W. (Veronica Boebel) Ross of Bucyrus; grandchildren Timothy Thompson and Lydia (Josh) Boles; and one sister Martha M. (Peter) Grau Kraft.
Esther worked at Bucyrus City Bank for 9 years and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Holmes Liberty H.S. in 1947 and a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Women of the Church and the Ladies Circle. She was known for making sewing kits for Lutheran World Relief. Esther was very active in TOPS for several years and helped support it by her hobby of refunding. For several years Esther was active in the ladies bowling league and several years ago the Jack and Jill Mothers Club. Esther enjoyed sending cards to friends and was a very caring person.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Renee Ahern and Rev. Kathy Shuck officiating. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Monday from noon until 2:00 pm. The family suggests memorials be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church Steeple Fund or Home Care Matters Hospice.
