Biography: Esther E. Woodward, 95, of Bucyrus passed away Thursday Nov. 7, 2013 at the Carlisle House in Bucyrus. Esther was born Aug. 12, 1918 in Turner, MI to the late Jacob and Emilie (Thaut) Dewald. She was married Jan. 17, 1947 to Floster “Woody” Woodward who preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1990. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by grandson Chad; daughter in law Bonnie Woodward; brothers Jacob and Clarence Dewald; and sisters Rose Koysh, Friedalene Ott, Irma Nichols, and Catherine Nitschke.
Esther is survived by son Paul E. Woodward of Bucyrus; granddaughter Mindy (Gary) Long of Ashland; great grandsons Brysen, Brayden, and Brantyn Long; and sisters Bernice Metcalf, East Tawas MI, Adeline Ridenour, Mansfield, and Hilda Sass of N. Dakota.
Esther lived most of her life in Bucyrus and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Women’s Missionary Group. Esther enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Lance officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 pm on Sunday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
