Biography: Elizabeth V. “Betty” Langdon, 90, of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2013 in Bucyrus Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. Betty was born July 15, 1923 in Bucyrus to the late Michael and Eva (Bess) Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Kevin in 2003, brothers Jack and Robert as well as one sister Loretta.
Betty is survived by son Michael A. Langdon of Bucyrus; daughter Christine (David) Hambley, Sylvania; grandchildren Scott (Krista) Hambley and their son Landon of Okinawa, Japan; Ryan Hambley of Columbus; Erica (Brett) Lindgren of Boston; and Brennan (Rachel) Bartrum of Louisville, KY.
Betty graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1941 and entered the Military following Pearl Harbor, she served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Betty retired from Swan Rubber and following retirement worked at Meijers and volunteered at the hospital. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and had a great love for animals.
Memorial Prayer Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
