Edwin E. Snyder

Biography:  Edwin E. Snyder, 83, of Bucyrus passed away at 9:30 am Monday June 10, 2013 in Altercare of Bucyrus following complications from a recent surgery.  Ed was born Oct. 8, 1929 in Upper Sandusky to the late William and Alpha (Shafer) Snyder.  He was married to Kathryn “Kathy” (Fackler) Snyder who preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 1988 and was formerly married to Mary (Linn) Cole Snyder who survives.  In addition to Kathy and his parents, Ed was preceded in death by son Kenneth and 9 siblings.
 
Edwin is survived by children, Michael (Tina) of North Robinson; Doug (Lisa); and Randy Snyder both of Bucyrus; grandchildren Christina and David Snyder; Brandon (Andrea) Cundiff; Steve (Michelle) Cundiff; Josh (Erika) Snyder; Clint (Ashley) Snyder; and Chad Snyder all of the surrounding area; great grandchildren Chloe, Braxton, Brynlee, and Alex; brother Byron Snyder of Upper Sandusky and sister Lois Pfeifer of Forest.
Ed retired after 32 years from Swan and farmed for several years.  He graduated from Upper Sandusky H.S. in 1947 and was a Korean Army Veteran.  Ed was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and the American Legion Post 181.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and gardening.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Voelker officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thurs. from 5:00 pm until the time of the service.  Memorials may be given to the Wynford or Colonel Crawford Athletic Boosters or the Church, through the funeral home.
