Earl E. Powers

Biography: Earl E. Powers, 89 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday evening at Altercare of Bucyrus, he had been in failing health.  Earl was born Dec. 14, 1923 in Bucyrus to the late Don L. and Sadie (Pearl) Powers.  He was married Nov. 17, 1945 to Virginia M. (Garvin) Powers who preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2009.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Donnabelle Rutledge and Alberta Bowser; brothers Nolan, George, and Charles Powers.
 
Earl is survived by daughters Erlene Rupe and Rita (Neil) Brown both of Bucyrus; grandchildren Jesse Raifsnider, Tina (Kelly Fulwider) Hyer, Tony (Darlene) VanHouten, Melissa Civay; great grandchildren Jesse Baird, Dylan and Dakota Raifsnider, Chelsea Civay, Michael, Shaina, and Brandon Hyer, Alexandra and Andrea VanHouten; brother Don (Pauline) Powers and Robert Powers both of Bucyrus; sister in law Helen Powers of Bucyrus as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Powers worked for Pacal Blades as a Crane Operator for 41 years.  He lived his entire life in Bucyrus and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Hurles officiating, burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be given to Home Care Matters Hospice through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
