Dorothy was raised on the family farm near New Washington and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1941. Soon after graduation she married Richard and worked side by side with him in farming.  During their married life they travelled extensively throughout the country visiting most of the United States. She was very supportive of her children while they were growing up and later in life enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle as well as the Tiro Homemakers club. While living at the Carlisle House, Dorothy enjoyed friends and the activities especially dominos and baking with Betty Luidhardt. One interesting tale that she enjoyed telling her children and grandchildren was while driving on their honeymoon they had a flat tire and due to war-time rubber shortages they had to return home earlier than planned.

Joseph Bartczak officiating, burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.  The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 3-7 pm.  Memorials may be made to Good Hope Lutheran Church WOW (charity meal program) or the American Stroke Association through the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
