Biography: Dorothy Harris 86, formerly of Bucyrus and most recently of Port Charlotte, Fl passed away on Monday June 4, 2018 in Port Charlotte. Dorothy was born April 17, 1932 in Bucyrus to the late Harold and Juanita (Cornwell) Reininger. She was married July 3, 1948 to Chester P. Harris Jr. who preceded her in death on July 26, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 6 siblings.
Dorothy is survived by sons Gary (Susan) Harris of Bucyrus and Mark (Melissa) Harris of Port Charlotte; grandchildren Heidi, Holly May, Kristopher, Benjamin, and Jeremy; as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Dorothy lived her entire life in Bucyrus until recently moving to Florida. She was Past President of the Ladies Shrine and the Ladies Aux. of the VFW Post 1078 and was a charter member of the Bucyrus AMVETS. Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star #5 and the Lady Oriental Shrine of Columbus. In addition, Dorothy was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, the Eagles, and the Am. Legion Marion unit 584. For 24 years Dorothy served as a gray lady at Bucyrus Community Hospital and for 15 years worked for the Pinkerton Security Investigations.
Graveside Services will be held at the graveside in Oakwood Cemetery on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 2:30 pm with Robert Waller officiating.
