Biography: Doris I. Zucker, 82, of Bucyrus went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon. Doris was born Oct. 11, 1930 in Ink, OH to the late William Paul and Thelma Mae (Ross) Ankney. She was married April 6, 1974 to Virgil E. Zucker who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Ross, Neil, Frederick "Fritz", Donald, Darhl "Bup" Ankney, sisters Dortha "Dottie" Ealy, Donna Jean Frank, Darlene Stuckman, Diane Shell, as well as infant brother David Paul and infant sister Kathleen.
Doris is survived by step children Brant (Lynn) Zucker of Marion; Yvonne (Scott) Harvey, Bucyrus; step grandchildren Ben (Amanda) Zucker, Josh and Jonathan Zucker, and Nicholas and Nathan Harvey; sister Delberta "Bert" (Russell) Hedglin of Ashland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at North Cental Egg Co-op in New Washington and 23 years in several auto parts stores as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1993. She graduated from New Washington H.S. in 1948 and was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. Doris was a past member of the VFW Ladies Aux. Post #2920 and enjoyed family get togethers, hummingbirds, bluebirds, reading and word puzzles.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Good Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Harold Hasenauer officiating, burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Sulphur Springs. The family will receive friends at Good Hope Lutheran Church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
