Doris L. Candel

Biography:  Doris L. Candel, 93 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday March 2, 2015 at Bucyrus Community Hospital, she had been in failing health for the past 6 months.  Doris was born Nov. 7, 1921 in Crestline to the late Ira M. and Bertha (Sherer) Snyder.  She was married Nov. 17, 1946 to Harvey “Bud” Candel who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1989.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers Karl, Don, and James Snyder.
Doris is survived by son James Candel of Bucyrus; daughter Barbara (Mike) Kent, Bucyrus; grandchildren Scott (Kimberly) Kent of Bucyrus and Laurie (Scott) Heinle of Bucyrus; Great grandchildren Mason, Dalton, and Madison Kent; Grant and Andrew Heinle as well as one great grandchild expected; 1 brother Robert W. Snyder of Galion.
Mrs. Candel was a graduate of Upper Sandusky H.S. in 1939 and lived her entire life in this area.  She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Ladies of the Moose, the Y.M.C.A., and Life Member of  the VFW Post 1078 Ladies Aux.  For several years Doris volunteered at the Bucyrus Comm. Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Glory Geib officiating, burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Cr. Co. Humane Society or the Shrine Club through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left atmunzpirnstill.com
