Doris Marie Ahl Anguish, 92, of Maitland, Florida passed away July 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on December 6, 1931 to the Honorable Clarence and Anna Mary (Smith) Ahl. Doris married her high school sweetheart, Donald D. Anguish on July 27, 1952.
Doris graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1949, where she was Junior Class President and Editor of the Bucyrus High School Newspaper. In 1952, she graduated from Ohio State University, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
Doris was an active member of the Winter Park Presbyterian Church, where she had many roles over the years as a Deacon, an Elder, and the Church Librarian where she could share her love for books. She also was an active member of the University Club of Winter Park, Florida, where she hosted another passion and that was playing bridge.
Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She also shared many interests with her husband, Don, they enjoyed sailing with the Lake Lanier Sailing Club in Atlanta, Georgia and later with the Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami, Florida, and St. Petersburg Yacht Club, St. Petersburg, Florida. They also enjoyed RVing and traveling across the country.
Doris is survived by her sons, William Guy (Will) and wife Kathy Anguish and Robert Alan (Bob) and wife Teresa Anguish. Also, surviving are her many grandchildren, Kerrie (Jonathon) Hiett, Donny (Emily) Anguish, Tom Anguish, Billy Anguish, Bobby Campbell, Chevelle Anguish and Brandy (Mark) Baker. In addition to 10 great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Donald of 56 years of marriage, sister, Marjorie and brother, William (Bill) Ahl, and sister, Margaret Dunn.
The family will be receiving friends August 17, 2024 at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with Pastor Don Riley officiating with the service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery. Moments of Remembrance can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Doris's name to the National Breast Cancer Research Center.
