Donald H. Saffell

Biography:  Donald H. Saffell, 84 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Grant Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.  Donald was born April 20, 1930 in Willard to the late Ellis Herman and Edna Lois (Nickler) Saffell.  He was married Nov. 12, 1950 and has lived nearly 65 wonderful years with Ruth (Messerschmidt) Saffell who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers and 2 sisters Delores and Janis.
 
Donald is also survived by sons Matthew and Timothy both of Bucyrus; grandchildren Nathan (Anna) Saffell of Bucyrus and Jessica (Ryan) Moyer of Sycamore; great grandchildren Sierra, Aidan, Faith, Des’rae, Ella, and Lauren.
 
Donald was a journeyman machinist at Timken for 40 years retiring in 1992.  He lived his entire life in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1948.  Donald was a longtime Elder and very dedicated to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Bucyrus.  He was a Navy Veteran from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War.  Donald enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Elder Bernard Furry officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am Monday until the time of Service.  Memorials may be given to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com.
