Biography: David A. Hancock, 72 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday January 17, 2019 at Bucyrus Community Hospital, his death was unexpected. David was born January 7, 1946 in Bucyrus to the late Mervin A. and Eleanor L. "Louise" (Seybert) Hancock. He was married Nov. 12, 1965 to Barbara (Graham) Hancock who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Charles Hancock and sister Betty Congaware.
David is also survived by daughters Angie Hancock and Christa Robinette; grandchildren Steven A. Robinette and Cassie M. Robinette all of Bucyrus; brother Calvin who thought his brother was the "Best big brother that a little brother could possibly have"; sister Eulanda Clinard of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
David was a lifelong Bucyrus resident and graduated from Colonel Crawford H.S. in 1965. He retired from the Timken Co. in March 2009 after over 30 years. David enjoyed working hard, being around nature, hunting, and being a wonderful family man. David was a loving grandfather, a great role model, and his grandson Steven's hero.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Rebon officiating, burial to follow in Oceola Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Humane Society and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
