Biography: Curtis James “Bam-Bam” Hansford, 71, of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday Dec. 4, 2014 at Bucyrus Community Hospital of an apparent heart attack, his death was unexpected. Curtis was born Aug. 13, 1943 in Cranks Creek, KY, Harlan County to the late Olen and Kate (Middleton) Hansford. He was married to Brenda (Eckstein) Hansford who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Harold, sister Rev. Joyce Tussey, and step son Shane Corns.
Curtis is also survived by children; Leigh Ann (Bill) Bloom of Arizona; Angie (Scott) Gault of Carey; Chet (Jackie)Hansford of McCutchenville; Ivan “Doobie” Hansford of Upper Sandusky; and Jessica Gatchell of Upper Sandusky; step daughter Shantah (Shon) Fry of Bucyrus; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Morris Hansford of New Philadelphia; sisters Brenda Espinoza and Sharon Coppler both of Bucyrus and Ruby Koch and Tammy Williamson both of Kentucky.
Curtis was retired from National Electrical Carbon in Fostoria. He has lived the past 40 years in Bucyrus and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Curtis enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an Arch Angel.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Thomas officiating, burial will be in Smithville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7 pm. It is suggested that memorials be made to the New Day Ministries and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
