Claude A. Thompson Jr

Biography: Claude A. Thompson Jr., 69 of Bucyrus went to be with the Lord on Monday July 3, 2017; his death was unexpected following an extended illness.  Claude was born October 19, 1947 in Raven VA to the late Claude Thompson and Loraine M. (Lowe) Smith.  He was married July 17, 1971 to Tex "Gwenn" (Gibson) Thompson, she survives along with four children, David (Kim) McGowan of Bucyrus; C. Allen (Debbie) Thompson III of Mt. Gilead; Shannon (Sherry) Thompson of N. Robinson; and Ronnie (Traci) Thompson of Bucyrus; grandchildren Beth (Dustin) McGowan, Danica (Cody) Schifer, Michael, Zach, and Brittany Thompson, Mikaela (Noah) Jackson, Ashley and Joshua Thompson; great grandchildren Robert, Aryanna, Lane, and Miahleigh; and sister Judy Thompson of Florida.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Genny L. Thompson, brother Jackie W. Thompson, and sisters E. Carolyn Branam and Sandra G. Sexton.

Claude graduated from Galion High School and attended North Central Technical College. He had worked at Whirlpool in Marion and Baja Boats in Bucyrus.  Claude was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the Bucyrus Church of God.

The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Bucyrus Church of God on Woodlawn Avenue with Bishop Jason Merrit officiating; burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
