Biography: Clarence “Ace” Monk, age 81, passed away September 17, 2016. Clarence was born to the late James Monk and Edith (Sharp) MonkNovember 19, 1934 in Crawford County. Clarence is preceded in death by parents, spouse; Florence Monk; by two brothers, three sisters, and Martha Monk, Dwight Monk, and Pamela Kegley.
Clarence is survived by daughter Robin Brown, brother Darrel (Susie) Monk, James “Chet” (Norma) Monk both of Bucyrus; sisters, Bertha (Bill) Hosler of Columbus, Mildred (David) McClintock of Bucyrus; grandchildren; Jeremy Bloomfield, Thomas Johnson, Damenyon Brown, Nichole Brown, as well as seven great-grandkids, numerous nieces and nephews.
Clarence has been a Bucyrus resident his entire life. He served 26 years in the Marine Corp and National Guard. Clarence retired from Swan Rubber then worked at Timken until 2009. He enjoyed bowling and was always keeping active. Clarence loved spending time with family and would find himself doing all sorts of odd jobs for them and friends like painting houses or landscaping. He was a member at Church of God in Bucyrus.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday September 22, 10-12 am, with a funeral at 12 noon following visiting hours at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, officiating is Pastor Dan Rebon. Memorial may be made to Home Care Matters Hospice through Munz-Pirnstill.
