Biography: Cherie M. Gettings, 52, of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday August 7, 2014 at Heartland of Bucyrus. Cherie was born May 20, 1962 in Lackawanna, N.Y. to the late George Griffith and Ruth (Faybach) Griffith who survives in Poland, OH. Cherie is also survived by children Howard (Laura) Gettings and James Gettings both of Bucyrus; grandchildren Grant and Ruthie Gettings; step grandchildren Kathy and Charlie Napier; and 3 great grandchildren Ariel, Carson, and AllieMae Osborne; one sister Michelle Houston of Poland, OH.
Cherie moved to Bucyrus 5 months ago to be closer to her family. For several years she drove taxi in the Youngstown area. Cherie loved watching various soap operas and Little House on the Praire.
At Cherie’s request there will be no formal services. The Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
