Biography: Charles R. Carr, 84 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday April 11, 2013 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus following a brief illness. Chuck was born in Bucyrus on February 1, 1929 to the late Leo and Ethel (Fauser) Carr. He was married April 2, 1950 to Winifred L. (Kirgis) Carr who preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1999.
Chuck is survived by children Mike (Nancy) Carr, Dayton; Jane Carr, Bucyrus; Jeff Carr of Lansing, MI; grandchildren Angie (Dale) Butler, Galion; Brian Carr, Dayton; Brad (Megan) Carr, Columbus; Molly Carr of Dayton; great grandchildren Blair, Cannon, Sofia, Jayden, and Daniel; brother Harry (Jean) LaVerne Carr, Galion; sisters Mary Louise Diebler and the late Richard of Bucyrus; Carolyn Marie (Mills) Poorman, Cardington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Chuck was employed by the Ohio National Guard for 35 years and retired as a Supply Sgt. and was a Bucyrus School Bus Driver for 25 years. Chuck was a lifelong Bucyrus resident and devoted member of Windfall United Church of Christ. He was a Barber Shop Chorus Member for 50 years and most recently sang with the Marionaires. For many years, Chuck and his wife belonged to the Pinochle Club. Chuck loved to travel, especially to Branson MO as well as one day trips. He is well known for providing transportation to many local residents. Most of all, Chuck enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He brought much joy and touched many peoples lives.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The family suggests memorials be made to the Windfall United Church of Christ and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
