Biography: Charles R. Bennett, 73 of Bucyrus went home to be with the Lord on Friday Jan. 2, 2015 at home, his death was unexpected of an apparent heart attack. Charles was born April 27, 1941 in Welch, W. Virginia to the late Ernest and Norma Jean (Ray) Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Vance and John Eugene as well as sisters Opal, Audie, and Francis.
Charles is survived by wife Betty Griffey; children Jason (Carla) Bennett, New Washington; Charles A. (Susan) Bennett, Bucyrus; Angie (Wally) Kirkland, Bucyrus; Renee Wade, Lexington, Lisa (Jim) Eggers, Ft. Myers, FL; step children Ronnie Morris, Sulphur Springs and Penny (Steve) Jones, New Winchester; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother John Bennett of Raleigh, NC.
Charles lived most of his life in Bucyrus. He was a born again Christian who truly loved the LORD and his family. Charlie loved coon hunting and had several hunting buddies including Ed Kincaid. You could often find Charlie driving down the country roads as he enjoyed being on the go.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Crawford County Memory Gardens where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents, Rev. Carl Angel will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am until departure to the cemetery at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
