Biography: Charles E. Klingenberger, 79, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday Nov. 15, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Findlay. Charles was born July 15, 1934 in Bucyrus to the late George B. and Bertha (Sheibley) Klingenberger. He was married Nov. 26, 1982 to Audrey (Gabriel) Cooper Klingenberger, she survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Mary Catherine Klingenberger, brother Arden Joseph Klingenberger, step son in law John R. Wagner, and step grandson Mitch Wagner.
Charles is also survived by step son Michael (Lou Ann) Cooper, Bucyrus; step daughter Carol A. Wagner, Bucyrus; step grandchildren Erica (Neal) Metzger, Bucyrus; Elena (Dave) Gantt, Marion; Timothy M. (Lisa Wilson) Wagner, Bucyrus; Joseph R. (Michelle) Wagner, Sycamore; Amber M. (Jeffrey) Payne, Culver, IN; 13 great step grandchildren; brother Frank (Gloria) Klingenberger, Bucyrus; sister in law Cheryl J. Klingenberger, Bucyrus; nephews Jeff (Bridget) Klingenberger, Andy (Sandy) Klingenberger, JoAnn (Jason) Statser; and 4 great nieces and nephews.
Charles was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a graduate of Bucyrus High School in 1952. He served in the United States Navy from 1957-1960. Chuck retired from Timken in 1990 after 37 years. For over 45 years Chuck umpired boys baseball and girls softball at all levels from Minor League to High School. He was part of the Bucyrus high School Chain-gang for 30 years. Chuck was an avid bowler and active in the Bill Rahm Tournament where he was second runner up twice. He was a lifetime member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669, enjoyed watching Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, John Wayne, and Western Movies as well as listening to old Country Music, he read most of the Louis Lamour books. Church was also a fan of the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team and Notre Dame Football.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Miller as Celebrant, burial will be in the Holy Trinity Section of Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 pm. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:45 pm The family suggests memorials be made to the Bucyrus Little League or the Parkinson Foundation and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
