Charles Carter

December 31, 1969 — February 1, 2015

Biography:  Charles Carter. 85 of Bucyrus went home to be with the Jesus on Friday Jan. 30, 2015 following an extended illness.  Charles was born March 8, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Charles Albert and Opal (Porter) Carter.  He was married Oct. 3, 1967 to Roseanna (Conkel) Carter who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ed, Paul, and Alan Carter, as well as one sister Charlotte Fletcher and brother in laws Ray and William Conkel, and Hank Rule.
 
Charles is also survived by Martin Conkel, Donald Conkel, Dodie Conkel, Darla Sprague, and Melody Stratton, who considered him as their second Dad, brother and sister in laws Clarence and Sandy Conkel; Clara Rule; and Donna Conkel, all of Portsmouth; Mary Conkel of Bucyrus; numerous nieces and nephews and church friends who he loved very much.
Charles moved to Bucyrus in 1966 and retired from Pacal.  He attended Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed watching OSU Football and NASCAR.  In addition, Charles liked to be around his friends and children as well as his pet dog “Coco”.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-6 pm where services will be held at 6:00 pm with Rev. Lyle Arnett officiating.  Additional calling hours will be held at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford on Friday from 11:00 until 2:00 pm with services being held at 2:00 pm with Zack Conkel officiating, burial will follow in Harrison Twp.
