Biography: Charles A. Scott, age 79, went home with the Lord Saturday, April 1st at home. Charlie was born to the late Carl and Myrtle (Ruffener) Scott January 15, 1938 in Bucyrus. He graduated from Holmes Liberty in 1956. On January 20th, 1984 he married Sarah Cundiff Scott who survives. Charlie is preceded in death by parents and Son-in-Law Bob Howell.
Charlie is survived by loving wife Sarah A. (Cundiff) Scott; brother, Paul (Kay) Scott; sister, Kathryn (Ken) Ball; 7 children, Michael (Marla) Scott, Amy (Ben) Ramirez, Vicki Howell, Mandy (George) Paez, Missie Striker, Dwayne (Deborah) Castle, and Darrin (Ann Elchert) Castle. They had 14 grandchildren, including special care giver Misty Weisenauer and her daughter Cherokee Morrison, and 17 great grandchildren.
Charlie had served with the National Guard for 6 years. He was a farmer and retired from Timken after nearly 33 years after which he and Sarah moved to Kentucky and managed an apartment community for 13 months. After returning to the area he built grain bins with Schiefer Bins for 10 years. Then Charlie became a cemetery trustee at Martin Luther for a few years and he was also a lifelong member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer fireman with both Holmes and Bucyrus Townships where he served as Chief. Charlie always enjoyed landscaping and helping out neighbors with mowing while he was out taking care of his own lawn. He also loved to travel when the opportunity was available or do woodworking when he could find the time.
The family will be receiving friends at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home from 3-6 PM Wednesday April 5th. The funeral services will be at Martin Luther Lutheran Church 11 AM Thursday April 6th with pastor Tim Nilsen officiating.
